About the role
The Cyber security Specialist contributes to the establishment, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the security operations program. Working in the Director IT Operations and Security Management, this role includes responsibility for assist the IT Operations and Security team managing those security systems and take appropriate action on the events they generate. In addition, this contributor plays a key role in the development of M3 Tech’s overall security program through the development of standard operating procedures, training materials, process improvement & documentation as well as mentoring and coaching members of the security operations team.
The duties
• Monitor, evaluate and report on security operational performance and processes to assure the continuous improvement of the overall program
• Monitor internal and external security policy compliance
• Create and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures as better practices and new processes are identified
• Assis in post-incident analysis and documentation to ensure accurate root cause of incidents is identified, appropriate preventive actions are identified and tracked, and reduce likelihood of future security events
• Follow applicable documentation, confidentiality, and legal standards in all written and verbal communication
• Demonstrate excellent judgement when addressing new challenges where process may not already exist
• Work with third parties as required to tune existing or new security technologies
• Assist with various audit of internal compliance to security policies and standards
• Implement security best practices in accordance with SOC II Type 2 and other national/international security standards
• Communicate effectively with business and technical audiences and produce suitable communications for multiple audience types, both client-facing and internal
The must haves
• Minimum College Diploma in Computer Science or similar filed.
• Versatile customer service experience with an emphasis on client satisfaction
• Excellent computer literacy and skills
• Strong multitasking abilities
• Strong listening and communication skills
• Must be comfortable working in a highly structured, measurable target driven environment.
• SOC2 and compliance knowledge an asset
• Ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections
• Professional and friendly attitude
• Self-discipline and self-motivated
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, Office 365, Exchange Online service, SharePoint service & OneDrive client.
